DVD shows as vob, bup, ifo files on pc

Im trying to upload some family videos to my pc and when I put the dvd in it shows as a bunch of random files (VOB,BUP,IFO). Is there anyway I can convert these or something?

I know the files seem random, but those are the normal files found on a video DVD. Assuming you own the copyright to the video, you can use a program like Handbrake to convert a DVD to a more conventional video format, at the cost of some quality.
