How to play rainbow six siege in 4k resolution?
hey guys,I am not 100% sure if this is in the right section,if not please move, anyways.
I have a 4k monitor and I want to fully use it and don't play R6S just in 1080p resolution.
So I searched the web and I found a free Steam game DLC which is named "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege - Ultra HD Texture Pack", I installed it and when I launch the game it doesn't have the option of 4k resolution! What's more in the steam library in the games category it shows me the dlc as "not installed" see picture: http://prntscr.com/e4pizu
Any thoughts? Thanks

The Ultra HD Texture Pack is as it is - a "Texture".
All weapons are redefined graphics which makes them smoother and the weapon looks more realistic no matter the display.
For consoles, it was an automatic update, for Steam it is a "DLC"

But when downloading/installing the DLC shouldn't it be possible to change the resolution from 1920x1080 to the 4k resolution? check out my current graphics and and display setting!

The game supports 4k with and without that DLC. What are your system specs?

Your monitor supposed to be running at 4K even at desktop but speccy shows 1080p for some strange reason.

You have to have a graphics card with 6GB VRAM to enable 4K gameplay. So you can't play in 4K. Sorry dude

980ti has 6gb vram... it's just reading incorrectly there.

Not all gtx 980ti have 6gb, you can buy them cheaper with less vram

Would be a first I'd ever see.

This article exists too,

And this,

Weird though.

This guy has 2 GB on Speccy; 6 GB on GPU-Z:

OP, do you see 4K as an option outside the game?

All 980 Ti's have 6GB VRAM.

It says standard, modders or other companies can still change it for cheaper results. Like MSI

No. They don't.

If you see/find one with less vram then it's not actually a 980ti. Fake cards are a thing.

That in no way means that that is what the OP has as some system monitoring programs do tend to get things like ram/vram wrong.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
