Transferring of Steam folder
Right, so my Steam Apps is slowly getting out of control and had eaten up 80% of my disk space on the C drive. Is there a way for me to transfer all folder to the D drive without messing up anything/causing any error?

Yes, just move the whole Steam folder.

I see. Anyone tried that before>? Wouldn't want to redownload all of my games.

ReBoot knows his stuff. trust him.

it wont redownload, only verify the game files on the next launch of the game.

Make sure to set the new folder location in Steam settings>downloads>Steam folders.

If you move the folder how is it gonna know where you moved it to without setting it's new path?

It would be much better and safer if you simply uninstall older games you don't play very often. Keeps your library and computer cleaner too.
Clean your temp folder. Thats a good idea.

Go to Your drive with your os and games on go here; Users, Your pc name, appdata (it may be hidden if so go up to the ribbons and tick show hidden folders) then click on local and find temp. Open it and delete everything in it and empty your recycle bin. Should free up 200gbs depending on the last time you cleaned.

Mine fills up 50gbs every week lol.

If you keep your games in the Steam folder, Steam knows because the games are in the Steam folder!
The problem you're talking about only appears if you put your games anywhere else.

Can I copy the Steam folder to other PC's on my LAN (to sync all of my downloaded games across all my PCs)?

Official way:
  1. Steam client -> Settings -> Downloads -> Steam Library Folders -> Create a Library on D:
  2. Right click game in library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Move Install Folder...

New Steam Folder Library Can't Be The Drive Root. What does that mean?
