Steam Cloud Save Files
I have been playing Stardew Valley for a while on my PC, I installed the game on my Mac and it synced an old save file. what can i do to retrieve my more recent save file?

Nothing. Some games however don't sync perfectly across platforms. This game.may be just one of them.

will the save file be messed up on my PC as well? :(

Depends on tue game. Yo should check first if this particular game is affected by this particular issue.

On the Windows computer; I'd disable Steam Cloud before launching Stardew Valley. You don't want Steam overwriting it. At least not until you can make your own backup.

Go to Stardew Valley in your Steam Library. Right click, and go to 'Properties'. In the new window go to the 2nd tab, 'Updates' and uncheck the "Steam Cloud" option.

Now you can go to your savefolder; "%AppData%\StardewValley\Saves\" and make your own backup.

If you want to manually copy it to your Mac you'll need to copy the save folder, and on your Mac paste it into "~/.config/StardewValley/Saves/"
