Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Support

Got the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller hooked up to my mac through bluetooth flawlessly. Everything of the controller - d-pad, buttons, triggers, analog stick seems to work fine in steam and games. But however, for those games that take advantage of analog joystick, that's where the problem is. It seems like deadzone/sesnsitivity of both analog stick stays limited to walking or close to speed walking. It seems like the full-tilt of the joystick is recognized in game as half tilt

I went out and bought a second Nintendo Switch Controller to test, but still have variation of this problem. Tried to google, but every result says the controller works natively on PC with no mention of analog joystick control.


Anyone else experienced this?

Try calibrating it with the Windows controller settings. I got some wacky settings with my sticks, either low or well above 100%, but after calibrating they seemed to work fine in emulators. Modern games often disregard your calibration settings, so it may not work for Steam no matter what. You may have to wait for a Mayflash adapter.

No need to calibrate a "controller" just un-plug it, don't touch the sticks, plug it in, there now it's calibrated.

Just double check it via Winkey+R > JOY.CPL

This appears to be a problem on PC too -- here's a reddit comment saying that the sticks need to be calibrated before they can be used properly with games. I am having the same problem on the Mac, and haven't been able to find a solution.

I'm using mine though the Steam Link, having the same problem but there isn't a way to calibrate the sticks since it doesn't show as a joystick really..

Nice to know it isn't just some steam link issue.

It's no different on that OS vs Win7/8
