New option in Settings under Web Browser.
Does anybody know what "Allow desktop Web browsers to automatcially log into Steam sites" does and why its ticked by default? I've only just noticed it so it's a fairly recent addition to steam.

Am I correct in assuming it means steam can open Firefox and log in without asking me? that can't be right surely? I've tried searching and nothings coming up on google or steam, so does any know what it refers to exactly?

:conwayshrug:

Does it just stop the steam web browser logging in?

.
That makes more sense, it was the desktop browser bit that threw me. I only every use the steam browser for steam and I use Firefox + uBlock for everything else so I'll just disable it for now and turn it back on if ever I need it.

I have the same question and i am surprised noone was able to answer it.
Its not a hidden feature, but an option which is clearly visible, so i cannot believe noone knows what it does. Please respond if you know what it exactly means - thanks.

Wierd all the posts with the answers in are gone, if I remember right it's to automatically log you into steam logins that are on other websites like humble bundle. Thats a big no no for me so i turned it off, not needed it once yet.

Note, I maybe totally wrong lol.
