Play button not working on shared games
For months now I've been playing games from another library without issues. Of course, I get thrown out when he plays something but that's merely a part of the feature.

Problem is that now I can't play any of them. The family share has not ended since it still says "Play" and not "Buy", but clicking on the play button does nothing. It's not greyed out, it's just not working.

"Verify integrity of game files" and "Backup files" are both greyed out, though.

EDIT: There's also been a merge between his and my libraries. In my library, all of his games show up as mine.

EDIT II: I tried uninstalling the shared games, after uninstallation they completely disappear from the library.

Have the other person enable/disable family sharing, log out, log back in, enable it again, then check. I had the same problem and it stemmed from this. After unchecking the box then giving permission again it worked for my sons account.

Does the person have to do it on this device or is it fine if he does it through another device?

He lives around 200km away from me, so all he can do is disable/enable from the computer he's currently on. Is that fine?

Having done this myself with both accounts, it still refuses to launch, I can launch the game with no problems when the original owners account is logged onto my computer, however when i switch back to mine it refuses to launch. Fallout 4 will work when launched outside of steam as an admin however skyrim is still unresponsive.

Alright, have the person disable your authorization from his account (or log into his/her account yourself) and then log out. Log into yours, then log out again. Log into his/her account, and enable it again. That worked for me, I hope it works for you guys aswell.
