There was some bug that accidentally enabled this for people, should not happen again.
Hopefully that does the trick; if not, I'll be back.
You can for example alt-tab when pressing guide+start, move the mouse by holding guide and moving the right stick and even control media buttons with guide+left stick.
You might not even notice if you don't really use the guide button so it might not cause issues for you, maybe you might even find it convenient? Still, you should know if you had issues.
I like this feature but there is no easy way to disable it currently which is not ideal.
You can change all the cord shortcuts to whatever you want however, even disable them all if they cause problems or just ignore them if you don't use the guide button. It's a pretty cool feature for people who play from their couch.
Mapping conflicts due to the fact that too many commands are bound to too few keys, and that's why I stopped buying controllers for PC games back in 1990.
If you are dead-set on using a controller, your best bet is to buy a Steam controller.
I've never had an issue with using a controller for PC gaming until this Steam update.
Oh, and no, I'm not using that piece of s**t Steam Controller; having gamed with a controller for the past 27 years, I can tell you from experience the Steam controller is a terrible design.
I'm wondering if they're intentionally trying to sabotage non-Steam controllers to force people to buy their half-a**ed shlock.
Although, it may be an issue on Deus Ex's developers' part (people have reported mouse and keyboard bindings are messed up now, too), so I guess now we just watch the tired old corporate blame game where Square Enix blames Valve, and Valve blames Square Enix, never actually solving the issue. Too bad I can't get my money back for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, because it's now unplayable over 50 hours in.
Anyone who knows how to fix this, and how to completely disable Steam's controller medling will be a hero to me.
good that GTA worked eventually, but as you still have stuff to fix with Deus Ex (that worked surprisingly well with my xb360 controller) I'd ask - is remapping the controller an option for you? as you say, the mouse and keyboard bindings are messed up, that might help?
And what do you mean exactly, how are they messed up? that happens when you plug in the controller, and then the buttons you press on controller simply don't reproduce? (sorry, I might have missed the part wherre you explain that)
edit: Found it, works like a charm and it's very soothing for the soul.
editedit: lol, some blogwart removed that jerk's quote from this post so now it appears like I'm angry at you guys for offering solutions to the problems introduced by this feature instead of at the guy who was being a smartass as well as at the feature and the person responsible for it ^^ Ohh, what have my internets come to ^^
editeditedit: I fixed it by setting all the shortcuts to "none" except in that full screen thingy I never use. Btw. I would use it if it allowed to easily list all the "couch co-op" enabled games
And where the hell is that? I also went to Steam>Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings. Uncheck all the boxes. That didn't help either. Don't you guys know the old rule.. "IF IT AINT BROKE DON"T FIX IT" All you did was screw me and a lot of other people royally.
