Redeem code hax.
Is it possible to hack someone by giving him a redeem code? because someone trying to give me one and said to try it out. should i check it out or it's fake?

Activating a code on Steam is pretty safe. The worst thing that can happen is that the code is not valid/duplicated

It's not possible to hack by giving somebody a link. It is possible to phish them though.

^ This. Worst case scenario, the key is invalid or the game gets revoked.

It counts as a proof of ownership so I would not try to get one from someone that seems a bit to pushy about giving you a code.

you probably need the account name also but they could already have that and you just didn't notice.

but also remember, older proof of ownership trumps (weighs more than) new ones.
