How to use Steam for Screenshots in Origin?

Abstract

Hello all, I'm just going to go ahead and get on with it becuase I'm tired of trying faulty strategies. Since EA in their infinite wisdom decided to put the 3rd Crysis on Origin instead of Steam, I am forced to take screenshots by adding Origin as a non-steam game to my library, launching it, and taking screenshots while playing Crysis 3.

The Question

Is there any possible way that when I take a screenshot, that I can upload it to Steam under Crysis 3's name instead of Origin?

I have tried everything I can find on using the Steam overlay for Crysis 3 (I'm using Digital Deluxe Edition) and since Origin seems adament on keeping Steam out, all attempts fail when you launch Crysis 3 and it launces Origin first and then Crysis 3, cancelling out the overlay.

If anyone has ANY insight on the matter, I would gladly try it at this point, I will do anything I can to try to assist you. My PC Specs are listed under "View More Information" on my profile.

1. Disable origin In-game in the origin settings, then close origin and make sure it is not running.

2. Add Crysis as a non-Steam game.

3. Play.

Alternatively, when you add Origin as a non Steam game, Rename Origin to Crysis 3. Then the screenshots will be saved as that.

I was thinking about doing this, but another big beef I failed to think about until after I added Origin as a NSG, Origin still runs in the background. If I dont close it, my Profile will for eternity be In-Game, xD

You can also use VLC Media player to upload Origin screenshots without needing the Steam overlay.

What the crap. This worked. I just have to make sure I kill Origin after running Crysis 3.

Hmm, just noticed that is uploads as "A Screenshot of ......." Can I fill in that space?

No it always does that with non-Steam games. If you click on the image it says Crysis 3.

They used to show up, but about 6 months ago they just stopped. Steam claim they're looking into it, but the general consensus is that Valve have stopped them showing on purpose.

The same thing happens when you upload a video.

Well that sucks. I can show that I'm playing the game, but my Crysis playing friends can't see my glorious screenshots, xD

If you take one you're particularly proud of, you can click the share button and then share directly to my status. It will appear on your feed then.

Really? Hmm...I did not know that...thanks! Saves me from going into the web browser and pulling my my account and copy/pasta the URL into the post, xD
