prey 2006 cd key stolen

Today, i tried adding my cd key for prey 2006 on steam knowing it was here, and it turned up as duplicate, an hour of farting around with a keylogger and other login related ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, steam refused my email approval number 8j5f9 (go ahead, it won't work)after repeated failed attemps and locked down the account retrieval and the browser version of steam refuses 2 acknowledge my password despite getting it correct & the pc steam application accepts it. You gotta love consistency. best of all, after my account WAS restored, it threw at me a blank email adresss named hotmail.com at me making me unable 2 restore my account.
So what have we learned? steam customer service is an automated pile of ♥♥♥♥ that can be hacked up the ass, making your account your acccount unretrievable.
come on steam, your supposed 2 be top dog on pc, yet sony of all people can let people recover their accounts with a phone call and verifying your original date of birth registration, meaning no matter how hacked your account gets you can ALWAYS retrieve it.
Best part of all: my hotmail account found none of steams emails or acknowledges them yet the windows phone i have instantly finds them.
oh, and incase your wondering, no, i wasn't able 2 get my prey 2006 version restored despite owning a boxed copy, dvd keys and all because i never got far enough cause of the above menioned account ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

So the key was registered by you on another Steam account?

possibility of that small, as the original account here i had was banned long ago 4 unknown reasons after being hacked. I don't have a recollection of listing prey on my games back then.

Then find it out! Try to register the key on your current account. That will trigger ah email to the old account's owner. If you receive it, then you found your old account.

My Prey 2006 dvd key doesn't unsurprisingly turn up any results on neither my hotmail or gmail accounts. i suspect duplicate key or copying by burglar.

The only thing that poor excuse for a page gives is you having previously registered a game by yourself on a different profile. the upper and lower choices are both loopholes/backdoors 4 steam 2 dodge responsibility and getting involved, citing issues such as getting involved with the seller or complaining how used games are bad and you can't trust them.¨
so, contact the seller, right? WRONG. Not only is my receipt gone, this transaction is well over 10 years old, and expecting a repacement is impossible and the devs, 3d realms are long gone.

Valve has no responsibility, you either bought/got a used game, one in your household used the key, or you redeemed the key on another account, your key/game your responsibility.

leading 3 solutions:
1. dvd key gen
2. burlars stealing a dvd key (yes really, although not unlikely seeing as stuff goes missing without a trace in my apartment and i live alone, and no 1 has a 2nd key)
3. dvd key illegally sold online.

Even then "rarely", you say... but.... you cannot "rarely" use a key to a game.. game keys can only be used ONCE on ONE steam account.. and that's all.

Just buy a new key, you can still get Prey Steam keys on multiple key reseller sites. The game costs like 3 bucks. Is that really worth all the anger and rage?

you realize this was released in 2006, well before steams rise 2 power, right? meaning, it was used prior 2 online verification, prior 2 steam adding key usage 4 games on their platform.

Today was the 1st day this dvd key should have seen usage on steam.
