i cant use community market/trade

it says i can use it because i havent made a valid purchase for 30 days even though i have i dont get it do i have to buy something else or what

it tells you that you made a purchase BUT it is not older than 30 days.

wait until june 3rd. that is 30 days after may 4th.

Doesn't mean the most recent is his only purchase. While he could have one; his other purchase could be i.e. 25 days old.

And that badge updates with key redemptions and received gifts too.

I'd say it's not exactly a reliable metric.

Considering it doesn't only pick up purchases, I'd still say no.

The badge could say 2014, but that doesn't mean they haven't added funds, or kept purchasing from the Market to extend the period they can use it.

If you don't have a purchase between 30 and 365 days, then you've to make one and wait until you do.

I was talking about the badge you were basing your assumption on.

If his Feb 6th, 2016 was from my link, then that one was definitely a purchase. The history page doesn't display redemptions or received gifts.

Anyhow, OP should have the answer.

• No purchase = Make a purchase, wait 30 days.
  
• Have a purchase = Check the remaining time here.
