Xbox one s controller guide button doesnt open steam in game menu

i bought brandly new xbox one s controller and updated the firmware and connected via bluetooth. Closed the xbox one in game dvr options. controller works perfect in steam full screan and in game but the guide button deesnt open the in game steam menu. i checked the settings and marked the "guide buttpn opens steam menu" but nott,ng hapens. Cant find anything on the internet. Please help

I used to have this issue on Windows 10, and disabling Game DVR wasn't enough for me.

Try enable Game DVR. Press the Guide -button so its overlay pops up. Press the cog icon and untick the box regarding the guide button opening up the overlay. Then disable Game DVR.

Retry.

Just wanted to say thanks, you helped me fix my problem. In the new Windows 10, there is a Gaming panel under settings. You have to uncheck the "Open the game bar using this button" checkbox EVEN IF you have the toggle above it toggled off. Then, for Xbox controllers, the guide button works in Steam but Steam or a Steam game has to be focused (it doesn't work if Steam isn't focused.)
