Request to disable family view?

So this morning I woke up to two emails from steam saying about a request to disable family view? I have already changed my password and contacted steam support, should I be worried? Did someone access my account?

Do you have family view on your account?

More likely someone entered the wrong email in when they added family view (it dos not use your normal Steam email).

Yes i do, i use it because you cant do much if someone hjacks the account.

Well yeah. The entire point is for the parent to enable it (using their own email address) so the child cannot access certain parts of Steam with their account (which is signed up using the childs email).

Hence why it is an independent email address.

Well lets hope thats the case, i just put it on so my account is more secure.

If you are worried I recommend running an anti virus (anything pretty much as long as it isn't jjst Windows Defender) and an anti malware (such as MalwareBytes)

someone recently hacked into my account and i just got back into it but they added family view with a different email, anyone know how to remove it from my account because i don’t have access to the other guys email.

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deactivate all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your mobile app https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Needless to say, if you access third-party sites (Scam or not, is indifferent) with your Steam account login details and Steam Guard code, this guide will be useless.
