Mobile Hotspot Friendly Gaming
I just moved into a new house and the WiFi wont be up for another 3 days minimum but I want to game and I can by using my phones hotspot. The only thing I'm worried about is using TOO much data. I have a 36gb data plan that resets in 21 days and ive used 9 gb so I dont want to use more than 20GB. Is that reasonable if im playing something like CSGO for only like a few hours a day? Also my main question is, is there any way to make my pc hotspot friendly? For example like any settings I can change to stop background processes from sucking up data?

Yeah that should be no problem. Its not comparable but i played Diablo 3 for weeks on a smartphone hotspot connection and i had like 800MB in a month from daily 3-4 hours of play.
I dont know if CSGO needs more but i dont think that much. If you have 20GB+ still you should have absolutly no problem gaming for 3days even if you play the whole 72 hours.
Of course stuff like voice chat will raise the used bandwith but not by that much.

Also, 36 GB data plan for your phone? Damn, the normal plan here in Germany is like 5GB with expensive options for 10 or 15 max.
Normal internet ist cheap as dirt without any caps here but smartphone is terrible.

I looked on my PC's data usage from the past 30 days it says Steam has used 140gb, CSGO used 3 and skype used 1 and those are the top 3 that are listed so im sure ill be fine exept for steam running lol
