What is the Steam-Market-Limit?
I would like to sell a knife wich is worth 400-450$.

Someone told me that the highest amount for the market is 400$. But someone sold the same knife through steam for 468$ (screenshot link here: http://prnt.sc/f1yryv).

And the Steam-Wallet-Limit is 500 they said.. so if someone would have 200$ on his account.. and sell something for 400$.. he would lose 100$, because the limit is 500$ ? Is this true?

And can i put my knife-skin for 450$ in steam ? Is this possible ?

Please answer me fast! (German / English) You can also add me instead of writing here!

Thank you already!

What kind of Steam Wallet and item listing restrictions apply? <-- linky

Currently we are restricting Steam Wallet balances to $500. We also limit the maximum price of a single listing on the market to $400. You will be restricted from listing items for sale in the Community Market if the existing balance in your Steam Wallet, plus the sale price of the item(s), would together exceed the $500 limit. We may be raising the Steam Wallet balance limit, or otherwise changing this restriction, in the future. Note that, if you have multiple accounts, balances for all Steam Wallets associated with all of your accounts will be aggregated for purposes of applying this limit.

Ok thank you for that information. But i could sell something for more than 400$?

I mean.. if i had just 20$ in my steam wallet and sell my knife for 450$. So i won't reach those 500$... would this be possible then ? :/

What's stopping you from testing this out, first hand? Try and list it.

Well i don't want to lose any money, because i've spent a lot for opening cases. So i want to be sure about what i am doing ö_ö
StickyPawz Apr 28, 2017 @ 12:42pm
It clearly says you'll be restricted from making such a transaction.
𝕯𝓐𝓚𝓐 Apr 28, 2017 @ 12:43pm
Well. The only option is to sell it for 400.00 $ ? Because if i sell it on any website.. i mean.. the risk is tooo high to get scammed, right ? :(

Safest to list on the steam market … but you know that.
𝕯𝓐𝓚𝓐 Apr 28, 2017 @ 12:49pm
Yeah but people would pay more than 400$ and i'd prefer the money somewhere else than in my steam wallet.. because here you are forced to spend it for games or items in here... and that's kinda sad :/

They should bring a feature where you can "checkout" the steam-wallet-money out of here but lose 2% or something.. so they would have one more way to earn money and people could get their money out of here...
StickyPawz Apr 28, 2017 @ 12:53pm
Steam wallet is just store credit … You can't *cash* out like a bank.
𝕯𝓐𝓚𝓐 Apr 28, 2017 @ 12:58pm
Yeah but it would be a good feature and i am sure a lot people would also want something like that :)

Well thanks for your time and i hope someone buys my knife soon :x

What kind of Steam Wallet and item listing restrictions apply?
Currently we are restricting Steam Wallet balances to $2000. In other currencies, the limit will be set to a value close to $2000. We also limit the maximum price of a single listing on the market to $1800 (or similar for other currencies). You will be restricted from listing items for sale in the Community Market if the existing balance in your Steam Wallet, plus the sale price of the item(s), would together exceed the $2000 limit. We may be adjusting the Steam Wallet balance limit, or otherwise changing this restriction, in the future. Note that, if you have multiple accounts, balances for all Steam Wallets associated with all of your accounts will be aggregated for purposes of applying this limit.
Are there minimum or maximum sales prices for items in the Community Market?
Currently there is no minimum sales price, although we may decide to impose a minimum price in the future. Currently, the maximum price for any particular item is $1800.
