Please Help :( gta 5 0 bytes/s disk usage
Please help me my gta 5 downloading is stuck at 16/2 gb (24%) and it the disk usage is just at 0 bytes and doesn't even change last time i downloaded upto 3.3 gb total and it wrote nothing to the disk that 3.3 gb just stayed there in total and when i restart steam all that 3.3 gb was gone and still im trying to download it but it doesnt want to write anything to the fkin disk

I've tried:-
Reinstalling steam
restarting steam
changing region
and even reinstall the fkin windows

Im using windows 10 pro 64 bit.

It's not using disk usage, but rather still network usage... so it's fine. Downloading slowly.

According to your internet speed it's currently going at, it will take 2 days to complete. It's a huge game (67.1GB) and your net speed isn't the fastest?

Ensure you have enough disk space on your drive.

Then just leave it overnight a few times and/or while you are not needing the internet bandwidth. You can pause it whenever and resume later (it might have to pause at certain parts/sections). So just do it while you are doing other things or sleeping. Note: Any internet caps/limits for the month (if unlimited, that's fine).

but the total downloaded game stays and 16.2 gb and i've to shut down my computer about after 12 hours because of electricity issues..

Under My Computer (This PC) > Local Disk (C:) and any others additional hard drives. How much free disk space is available? Ensure there's at least 70GB free.

What anti-virus scanner and firewall do you use?

You don't have any data usage cap on your Internet?

I personally believe a lot of patiences is key here currently. I remember when I downloaded GTA 5, it's a huge game, then those files decompress (reaching 68.8GB in size). Honestly, watching it will drive you crazy, it's best to leave and come back to it.

It's 4.4gb taotal now and dowloaded is still 16.2

1)I have 22 gb left still and gta 5 has already occupied about 70 gb

2) no antivirus and firewall settings are default i didn't even touch them ever.

3)no data cap but electricity problem.


the biggest problem is that even restarting steams resets it's and all those 4.4 i waited for are gone.

Repair Library Folder

The Steam library folder contains all of your installed games on disk. These folders need to be writable by all users in order to update properly. Sometimes these user permissions break and need to be refreshed.

Navigate to your Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> Steam Library Folders -> Right click on folder -> Repair Folder
Verify Local Files

Sometimes files on hard-disks and other storage devices become corrupted because of bad hardware, software crashes, power surges etc. Steam can verify the correctness over installed game files and fix them if necessary.

Find Game in Library -> Right click -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files

Did you do the verifying part?

Are you running any other software alongside this?

Especially the "Check Hard Drive for Errors" bit?

I've checked my hard drive it's and i've other games and stuff too and drivers browsers too are installed there nothing cause problem and i've tested the hard drive.

no software running

I will try the verifying part because now i've restarted the download and so far it is going fine i will let you know if it gets stuck again
