just did a fresh start and after installing steam it crashes after it starts connecting to my account
So i did a fresh start that new feature with the windows 10 creator update and installed steam again. It launched no issues and then i went to install my games again and it crashed. now it crashes after the "connecting to account" rectangle shows up.

So far ive deleted clientregistry.blob, i have ran it in compatability mode for windows xp sp3, ive run it as administrator, ive checked my firewall, i dont have any of the programs from the list that causes issues with steam, I have also tried a clean install already. Is there anything else i could possibly do to get steam to work again?

Edit: I copy/pasted the steam folder from my windowsold folder and then downloaded a new steam installer and went through it again. downloaded a 22,000 update and a 40,000 update and now it works.

When you say reinstall games do you mean re download as well? I have 500gb of games and I don't want the creator update if it deletes the games. btw steam isn't compatible with the creators update, ive talked with 6 different support agents from Microsoft and they told me to wait on the update till they fix it.

you can get the creator update. im talking about a new feature that allows you to essentially do a clean install of windows but it doesnt clear everything. And i dont think its the creators update because it was all fine until i did the fresh start.

I'm not the only person experiencing this issue. I did hours of research online yesterday and found out that steam will not work on the new build. Some people were asked to delete and reinstall steam and some were not.

Its really odd, I heard rumors that windows was going to start putting out updates that would cause steam to become inoperable.

Did it delete your games when you updated? I would really appreciate it AverageGaming.

Do not tell that to my computer, I have the latest updates installed on my windows 10, and I have absolutely no problems with Steam.

Sorry, I have a hard time believing that someone from Microsoft actually told you that.

Oh they did, I promise you that, I sat through 6 different support agents and the last one told me that steam was not working with windows. Windows tried to make me delete steam before it would let me install the creators update.
