Well, you might be able to get the Steam android app, but that's it.
Short answer: You can't
Long answer: You cannot run Steam on ChromeOS, as the operating system is only capable of running plugins that are supported through Flash, Shockwave, or the play store. Another issue is the hardware. No Chromebook has anything better than a laptop-class i3, which cannot run games at all. You also have a storage issue, as Chromebooks are netbooks that lack hard-drives and store downloads through Google Drive. Then there is the basic fact that Steam does not support the OS anyway, so its pointless.
oh wasnt aware twhen talking about chrome os it wasnt meant the chrome OS but a chromebook. Because I know you can install Chrome OS literally on any pc and use it offline too.
their capabilities are fully limited and are really only meant to do web browsing, flash based games, videos and the like.
They simply dont have enough power for a full fledged game even if they were compatible with Chrome OS.
It would be great to have a Steam client on Chrome OS because it isn't just for launching games. It has a messenger for friends, voice chat, a web browser, a store, etc. It could also be used to buy a game when at work (or school) and have it begin installing right then on your home PC.
It will not be a supported OS for Steam.
