I have a Mad Catz Soul Calibur V X360 Fightstick and it's plug & play. Is your stick the PS3 version perhaps? If so, then you may have this issue, because your motherboard is not made by Intel. You can get mire information about this issue here: https://forums.shoryuken.com/t/madcatz-ps3-te-fightstick-pc-xp-vista-win7-32-64bit-read-1st-post/55292?source_topic_id=156986
0ut of curiosity- have you given up on fightsticks completely or did you buy a different one?
Also- which character do you play? I myself am a Jin player and ex- Kazuya player.
Cheers!
As for the characters, i did lean strongly on Kazumi at first, don't know why. But after a while i started playing Josie, and i liked her much more. I'm not a great player when it comes to Tekken, which is why i tend to switch between characters. I usually practice one or two combo moves and move on to the next character. In Tekken 6 i was playing a lot of Brian, but i completely lost interest in him. I am quite facinated by Elize right now, thinking of practicing her next.
But truthfully, i don't play Tekken as much as i used to. I would have played it more on my ps4 i think. It was quite disappointing for me not being able to use the stick. I learned afterwards that it works on PS4. However at that time i had already spent over 2 hours trying to fix the settings so it would work on the PC. Valve concluded that i cant return it after playing it for 2 hours, even though i didn't play a single game.
I would pick a character that will definitely stay in the Tekken roster. Kazumi and Eliza do not seem like such characters. You will have to learn a new character if they are not in Tekken 8. Although you never know- Lei Wulong is absent in T7, same with Julia Chang.
