Increasing ram usage steamgames.
I have a MSI GP72 2QE Leopard Pro notebook, "No. 1 in Gaming"...
Specs [www.msi.com]
I just did a full system reset so there are no programs/virusses that clogg up the sytem.

However when playing games like Skyrim, Batman Arkham Knight or Shadow of Mordor I experience loads of lagg. It seems that this is because it has to load the openworld really quite fast.
A solution for this, don't quote me on this, would be to increase the ram. I have 8 GB however steam only uses 2 GB. I did some googling and it seems that the -heapsize command should work. Not for me though...
This time I used -heapsize 6291456
Hypotheticly this should give allow the game to use 6 GB of Ram...
But when I ran the game it showed me this: Screenshot [imgur.com]

It would be really appriciated if one of you could help me!

(BTW: all my drivers are up to date)

That graphics card isnt very good. 950m (m means a cut down mobile version) and it only has 2gb of vram.

1. heapsize is a command for Source engine games. None of the games you listed is using it. It wouldn't affect the videoRAM in any way.
2. 32Bit applications can only use up to 2GB RAM.
3. Using more RAM does not make a game run faster if the CPU and videocard can not render it fast enough.

Let me be frank. The laptop is NOT good. The 950M has only 2GB RAM and only rather slow DDR3 instead of the way faster GDDR5 which is more usual with quality videocards.

You barely meet the requirements for Shadow of Mordor.

You are clearly below minimum requirements for Arkham Knight.

There's nothing you can do, besides running on really low settings.

Skyrim, depending on which mods you use, should run more or less well.

There is a difference between system memory (RAM) and video memory (VRAM).
Your screenshot is showing the 950m's VRAM (2GB).

Also, your laptop isn't really a powerful gaming laptop. It's borderline gaming.
The 950m isn't particularly good.

Does this mean that I cant even play Shadow of Mordor laggless on the lowest settings?
That seems quite idiotic for a gaming laptop

Yes, it means you won't be able to play a game from 2014 even on the lowest settings.
Technically you could call it a gaming laptop, but it's only suitable for low entry games and games with rather low requirements.

Even my six year old videocard, which back then was lower middleclass, is faster than your mobile 950M. And it has only 1GB GDDR5 RAM.

Sorry to say but lower end "gaming laptops" are rarely any good for actual gaming.

Well there wend €1500,- down the drain...
Do you have any good tips for when I buy a new one?
I thought I bought a good laptop but it seems I didn't, it would be nice if you could give me some guidelines as to what to look at before buying one so I won't make the same mistake twice...

You paid 1500€ for that? You really got ripped off.
The next time you're planning to buy a new computer, post in the Hardware & Operating Systems forum and list your budget, country of origin and what games you are planning to play.
That should help you find a sweet deal.

P.S.: I just looked and i can find the laptop for about 2/3 of what you paid.

Well, you can use its full potential, the problem is, there's not much of that there.
