Games Won't Update ???

So, I need to update siege right, and I was gonna last night but steam went down and it wouldn't let me update and now I still can't update siege nor any other game. Anyone gotta fix ??

edit: steam restarted & update bar disapears when i try and launch an unupdated game

SOLUTION:

Since steam recently went down, it reset its bypass thru my router and my router essentaily blocked it. So if you run into this problem you should first:

1. unblock it
2. clear your download cache'
3. reboot
4. your games should now download

how are you try to update them are you just clikking play to update?

Right click game in client, pick properties, then local tab, then check file integrity. It will update any missing files.

im resuming my updates from the download section in library- that doesnt work. i'm also trying to launch unupdated games which usually prompts it to move that update to the top of the queue and start uodating.

yeah it wont even verify the cache/file or whatever. i just tried resetting download cache + restarting pc and that didn't work either. ???

Your the second person since yesterday with this problem. Wonder if its a steam issue although my games have updated fine today. I had like 30 of them. Are they big file games? In the worst cases when i experienced it i just gave up and redownloaded them. Your internet is up and fine?

My internet is completely fine, as I'm talking to you rn lol. I just deleted all steam files except for steam and steamapps and like internet works like im able to respond to this threat but it says zero friends are online and that im not even online smh

Okay restarted steam and now it says im online and the download bar hasnt disapeared yet so i think im making progress

What game? Ive had this happen a few times but checking file integrity typically solved it. Worst case i had to redownload it. Of course if its a game at 50gigs i could see not wanting to have to do that.

I had the exact same problem. I went to another country for a month holiday and i started experiencing problems only in the last two weeks (at first the games updating fine in the new country).

My problem: Games (specifically Dota 2) would stay on 0 out of 0 bytes downloaded. Tried everything even the solution above. Still didn't work. I don't think the "clear download cache" worked properly on my steam for some reason because there was still an update of 7mb out of 111mb downloaded for steam works or something.

Solution: I did the above but after seeing that something was still stuck on being downloaded I went to the steam directory and deleted the "downloading" folder located in the steamapps folder. Started steam again and everything started updating again
