How do i install a game i purchased here on Steam!!!
HELLO PPL. i have been playing COD2 ever since it came out. 2 Years back i got an i7 windows 8.1 and could not install COD2. A member from my clan helped me through the install and it worked just great until i reformatted a couple weeks ago.Now i can't install the game and can't get help for the install .So i decided to get it here on Steam. So i did last week, but i don't have a clue on how to install the damn thing!! I have it in my profile but how do i install it!! I have been breaking my head the last week on this Steam home page and not a damn mention on how to install your game once you purchased it!!! There is a lot about how to purchase a game, but once you do, you are not guided towards how to install it! Can anyone here help me?

You go to your library and then you just have to double click on the game.

Sounds like you need to read this article: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7141-OPGX-5121#download

Read all of it to learn the basics.

You need to install the Steam Client on your pc, then login with the same account you bought the game with. In your Steam Library on the left you will see all the games that account owns.
COD 2 should be there, greyed out, meaning it is not installed. Just click on the game and then press the big green INSTALL button on the right window. After its finished downloading the button changes to "PLAY".

After you buy a game it shows a "Install Game" button. . .

Is that not enough to help install?

He bought it two years ago though?

There are some steam users there who don't know there is a library where you can see and list your games. The default startpage for the client is the store so some people think this thing has a web interface and that's it.
They sometimes just search the store to download their games not knowing that there is other propers ways to do it.

Didn't the link i sent inform you how to do it?

You don't seem to be online on steam right now, do you have the steam application installed?

Forcen .I bought the game last week. Its my i7 pc i bought 2 years ago. I guess im not looking in the correct place for how to install. I have an Steam account i go in there i can see the game but i when i click on it nothing happens!! lol. I'm sure there is something i missed but don't know what??

If you search your start menu for "steam" can you find the application then?
If not, then you need to install steam on your PC and then log in.

Details how to do that is also covered in my link posted earlier, did you read the link?
It has links to other articles about installing steam and all that.

Steam is way more than just a website, you need to use the steam client to download any game you own on steam.

When you say "go in there" I have to assume you opened the website for steam in your web browser and logged in. That's not enough to download games.

First focus on getting steam downloaded and installed on your PC. In the article there is a link called "installing steam", click it and read how to install steam.

Don't make a new account since you already have one.
