Refund Friday the 13th
I've never asked Steam for a refund before and have been a loyal customer for years. I'm submitting a written and detailed refund request for this game which lists me as having 4.2 hours even though the majority of it was me trying to log in without being able to play.

I keep getting automatically denied a refund. Is there any way to actually talk to a person? I played about 3 matches total which isn't even over an hour. It makes no sense that I'd be denied a refund for this game.

Of course it makes sense. The game is not eligible for a refund considering you have played it for more than 4 hours while refund requests are only accepted when you have max. 2 hours played.

Actual humans review the requests.

This seems a lot less about 'being unable to play the game' and more about 'you being banned for trolling despite playing the game A LOT'

And you claim a lack of connectivity issues too. Sort of contradicts your statement of 'waiting ina match'

With over 150 million active accounts, verifying such claims to bend the rules would take too much of support's time. If you're nearing the 2 hour mark and still trying to log in, you need to decide whether you stick with it or do a refund, and not make the assumption you'll get one if you fail.

I literally said in my post I didn't play it for 4 hours I only had the client open trying to log in. A lot of people are having that problem.

Took you two hours too long to log in.

Took that long to find port info because they refused to give any so I had to sniff to find the ports to open.

It's weird that this is even an issue because I own a ton of games and never asked Steam for a refund to any. So the one time I do it's denied over how many hours the client thinks I "played" when I don't even have enough matches to reflect that?

Support can't see how many matches you played. All they can see is the time you ran the executable.

So having 85 games and never asking for a refund isn't even taken into account? Why would I suddenly start lying for $40 now?

Playtime does not mean the time you actually played but the time you spent in the game. And it is too much.

It's not about lying. The point is your game is not eligible for a refund. Regardless of how many games you own, how often you requested a refund, how honest you are...

Same rules for everyone.

This doesn't even hold true when others say they've gone over that 2 hour window and been given refunds as long as it was under 2 weeks. I only had the game for 2 days and barely got to play it. Why are they being so strict on this one when people have gotten refunds on games far exceeding both limits? What's special about this mixed review title?

if a game dont work in any way in the first hour then is not smart wait to fix itself,if the game dont run is not my job make it work, the refund rules are clear less than two hours and less than wo weeks, beyond that is unlikely ,you decided to bet and lost, dont cry now for that.

Nothing is special about it. Both requirements have to be fulfilled in order to get a game refunded. The rules apply to every single game and while some people may get a refund request accepted albeit having played a game slightly above the required playtime, the time you spent in the game is clearly too much.

Well it's not like I can't still go through my bank I was just trying to avoid that. They honestly have no right to deny a refund on a game I can't play no matter how they spin it. Maybe if I had waited a month or had a ton of play time but this policy is silly. And $40 isn't chump change. Not like I'm asking about a sub $10 game.

I had to actually try the game when I finally got in. Didn't like what I saw. This is a ridiculous policy so I guess Steam finally lost me as a customer. No real harm done just not getting anymore money from me and I'll be getting my money back either way.

Sad to lose a rather easy source to find new games but I don't stay with companies that refuse refunds over silly reasons. Reeks of cash grab. They lose nothing but refunding my wallet, I lose $40 by giving up.

But you claimed you were having no such issues. In fact you made fun of people who said they were having issues.

If you're going to lie try not to make one that is immediately falsifiable by your own posts

Given your post history, I don't think anyone is going to cry over 'losing' such a toxic terrible customer.
