Steam update problem - Stuck on Extracting Package...
I have a problem with my steam update that is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. Yesterday when i went to open up my steam, it opened an update as it usually does. I temporarily minimize the window, and go back to my browser waiting for the update. 7 minutes goes by, and i notice steam never opened up. I look at the update window, and its sitting on Extracting Package. I click cancel, and reopen it to try and fix it, and it does it again. I'v read many posts online about the problem, and so far everything i have tried has not worked at all.

I added steam services to my firewall, i changed the host to New York, i'v reinstalled steam, i'v deleted the Bin and Package folders, there is no problem with my Antivirus interfering...

At this point i am lost, and don't have a clue what is going on. It doesn't close out the window, it just stays there and continues to extract, but nothing happens. I have to close the window manually after a while of nothing happening.

I'v also made sure that Steam is completely closed in Task manager, and i'v restarted my PC 3 times since this started to happen. I'm completely lost at this point, and really i don't think it has anything to do with my PC. And i really REALLY don't want to reformat my OS.

If anybody at all has any tips besides what i'v already tried, please let me know about them. Its really starting to Annoy the absolute F..k out of me...

I have a program that automatically prevents certain processes from opening on windows start, with a lot of programs checked to be prevented from opening. So i don't think its Background processes.

like i said in my post, its not my antivirus. My antivirus is high end, and detects anything and everything that is suspicious or harmful, and it has never said anything ever about steam, or anything relating to steam.

and my internet connection is perfectly fine. If i can render Twitch streams out in 720p 60FPS, then there shouldn't be anything wrong with the internet connecting to steam.

And what program would that be? Sounds like a prime suspect to me.

Its a Turbo Booster program. I'v used it for years, and nothing like this has ever happened.
