You can only see their name if he/she replies to the moderator message.

ok...but why isn't the message showing up?

If it is not there, no ban was applied: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198020283168/moderatormessages

i still can't see their name

Read what I said above. You are not supposed to see the name of the moderator who banned you unless they reply to the moderator message.
Just reply to the message if you want to communicate with the mod in question.

ok i thought you meant if i reply to the message

so their names are hidden unless they say something how convenient for them...this leaves the door for abuse very open

While abuse of Mod powers does unfortunately happen occasionally, you can't be claiming that all of your bans were undeserved. We can see all of your post history and I don't think that you'll find many people agreeing with you when you claim you've been wronged here.

They never claimed your posts were hidden.

You post on public user forums, of course we can see all the posts you've made (unless deleted of course)
not always moderator, which answer = who banned :summersun:
and looks like you banned in game hub... or you use another account for violate rules and bypass ban = new ban

And Mods can see deleted stuff too, not to mention a user's full ban history. Mods will be a lot less tolerant to anyone with an extensive ban history as that user is an obvious troublemaker.

As for privacy of posts... well...

By the way OP, you agreed to that.

As for deleted comments in a discussion, yes. Hub moderators, however, can't see deleted posts in a user's post history. That is reserved to global moderators.

If you've replied to the ban message but the Mod in question hasn't replied to you then that often means one of two things:

1. The way you broke the forum rules is blindingly obvious and you should already know what that was. Stop doing it.
2. The Mod can see that you've been repeatedly banned from other forums, that you probably don't care about the consequences and, therefore, can't be reasoned with so there's no point in responding.

Do either of those apply to you?
