ok...but why isn't the message showing up?
i still can't see their name
ok i thought you meant if i reply to the message
so their names are hidden unless they say something how convenient for them...this leaves the door for abuse very open
While abuse of Mod powers does unfortunately happen occasionally, you can't be claiming that all of your bans were undeserved. We can see all of your post history and I don't think that you'll find many people agreeing with you when you claim you've been wronged here.
...steam's brilliant privacy
You post on public user forums, of course we can see all the posts you've made (unless deleted of course)
and looks like you banned in game hub... or you use another account for violate rules and bypass ban = new ban
And Mods can see deleted stuff too, not to mention a user's full ban history. Mods will be a lot less tolerant to anyone with an extensive ban history as that user is an obvious troublemaker.
As for privacy of posts... well...
http://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/
"Any information that is disclosed in chat, forums or bulletin boards should be considered public information..."
By the way OP, you agreed to that.
yea... everything a normal steam user does is out in the open... got it.
except when it comes to moderator names apparently
If you've replied to the ban message but the Mod in question hasn't replied to you then that often means one of two things:
1. The way you broke the forum rules is blindingly obvious and you should already know what that was. Stop doing it.
2. The Mod can see that you've been repeatedly banned from other forums, that you probably don't care about the consequences and, therefore, can't be reasoned with so there's no point in responding.
Do either of those apply to you?
