Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Analog Joystick Problem
Got the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller hooked up to my mac through bluetooth flawlessly. Everything of the controller - d-pad, buttons, triggers, analog stick seems to work fine in steam and games. But however, for those games that take advantage of analog joystick, that's where the problem is. It seems like deadzone/sesnsitivity of both analog stick stays limited to walking or close to speed walking. It seems like the full-tilt of the joystick is recognized in game as half tilt

I went out and bought a second Nintendo Switch Controller to test, but still have variation of this problem. Tried to google, but every result says the controller works natively on PC with no mention of analog joystick control.

Anyone else experienced this?

I have the same problem (variations) with all of my 4 pro controllers. both joysticks behave strangely on pc (with a 8bitdo Adapter). all 4 controllers works fine on my switch. but on pc, even If I perform a controller calibration, problem is still there. the "up" direction is so sensitive. in every game, characters would move slowly (walking). it's like i'm alway tilting slightly the joystick upward. every 4 controller do that. I even return 1 of them at my local ebgames (gamestop) and the brand new on does the exact same thing. So I thought it could be my 8bitdo adapter. but work flawlessly with a ps4 controller or wii u pro controller. I'm starting to think the switch pro controller have difficult times with joystick sentivity/deadzones/whatever I don't know a lot in the analog joystick domain.
Unfortunately, the two Joy-Cons will be treated as separate controllers. That’s great for two-player games, but it makes the Joy-Cons useless for playing anything complex, like a first-person shooter (why are you using a controller to play a PC shooter anyway?).

so use steam to set it up as 2 controllers.

I have the same issue with my pro controller, it can't that I'm pushing the left stick all the way up. I'm using it via the steam link.
For example you can't navigate the rocket league main menu properly.

This must be some driver issue, are you guys not using the controller via steam at all?

Works natively is not at all what I heard, you need a steam link+steam or special software and hardware for it to work properly.
Nintendo didn't make it to work with PC, it's just a side effect or it using bluetooth AFAIK.

Seems that different drivers all have problems with this controller, hopefully they will solve it.
I'm using mine with x360ce to translate it into xInput controls. When I test it in the UI, moving the stick up (or right) moves the cross noticeably less then moving the stick down (or left). https://imgur.com/a/RF8iL Here's some pictures.

Actually, I did. I was up until now using my Pro Controller over Bluetooth and since the controller was recognized as a D-Input Controller I could theoretically not use it in most Games, however, I did manage to set up Steam Big Picture in a way so that I could play almost all Games I wanted.

Since the controller was running over Steam, I could also just change what button should be recognized as which (helpful in some cases where I would switch A with B and X with Y) But there is also a feature in Steam Big Picture that lets you adjust the Deadzones (which I did).

I think there is also a problem with the direction of the left stick. Because when running to the left in some Game I tent to also move a tiny bit forward and when going right backward.

Editing the deadzones are a must yes, I saw that someone made a binding for the switch pro controller for Dark Souls, if you want a config to copy then this should work: steam://controllerconfig/211420/894975871
I'm experiencing the same issue. Using a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, fully tilting the joystick is recognized by the game as only tilting it partially.

This was especially noticeable while playing The Binding of Isaac (I couldn't move at full speed) and Detroit: Become Human (the game was unplayable with a controller).

I ended up getting a refund for Isaac (playing it on Switch instead), and I used keyboard & mouse for Detroit. I don't imagine it'd be simple to figure out what's going wrong, but it'd be great if we could.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
