"3d device not found" FIX
I figured I would post it since I am certain I am not alone with this issue. Microsoft released Dx12 and nothing is up to date to deal with it right now. So to fix this issue:
Game>properties>advanced launch options: "-dx11" This is a temp fix until devs update to Dx12.

Why are you not posting in the discussion hub of the game you are talking about?

Because it is happening with several games. 8/10 games I tested failed to launch therefore It is a general issue among PC users to be aware.

why is this here
If you would prefer I can go through all 300 of my games and post it in each forum that I find the issue with, but that would really be a huge waste of time and effort.

Too bad that this is a non-issue as games generally do not support that parameter.

Amazing how it worked just fine for me. Unless you are administrative and there is a real issue with the post please refrain from clogging the thread with your trolling.

Doesn't mean the launch argument is universal in any way.

Might work for x game; doesn't mean it will work for y game.

Personally I haven't had issues playing DirectX 12 games, but okay then.

There are also games that don't support DX11 or DX12.
Why should that command work for those?
Or games that support DX11 only, why should that command work for those?

The fix is for the Dx12 patch that came in through Microsoft last night that is affecting several games. Even non steam games. If the game does not support Dx11 or 12 than wow, it isn't part of the issue, and for your final load of trash "Or games that support DX11 only, why should that command work for those?" It does work for those because the games ARE ATTEMPTING TO LAUNCH USING DX12. Which is why you have to tell it to use 11.

Also note that this is for Windows users who recieved the patches and have updated their systems. Your ignorance is beyond me Cat.

What DX12 patch? Nothing showing in my Windows 10 update history.
There were two windows updates, one yesterday and one last night. If you do not have them installed yet I can only wander why they are not showing up.
On top of that you are in Germany and do not recieve the same updates at the same time the US does. You are just trolling at this point and will be ignored.

Source of this issue being mainstream?

As has been pointed out already, launch arguments aren't universal either. While one game might change its graphics API by a launch argument, doesn't mean another game will even recognize said argument.

What do you mean by that? I have several people who have encountered the same issue if that is what you are asking.
