Huh. When I Installed a recent game It gave me the option by way of browse to install on another drive other than in my C: steam. It created a steam folder automaticly on D:
op is talking about the same drive letter. at this time it is 1 per drive letter.
Oh, excuse me. Would this 1 per drive letter rule still apply to a partitioned drive?
So I have to have a different drive/Partition?
I think you can just create a new directory in your settings. Just navigate to the tab "Downloads". There you can manage your directories. For example, my whole installation of Steam (including games) is on the E:/ partition. When I click "Create Directory" after choosing my E:/ parition, I can create a new folder for my games. I hope that's what you searched for.
Alright, thanks for letting me know. Steam just finds a way to piss me off more every week.
Oh, okay, didn't know that. Well it works for me, I don't know why you have problems with that. However, why would you want to create a second Steam directory on the same partition in the first place?
Makes modding less of a headache since the UAC won't complain every time I try to do something with game files.
Skyrim. I'm boring, I know.
Ehm I'm just asking because I am modding Skyrim alot myself. My advice: Move your entire Steam-Installation to a seperate Partition. Really it will help you in a lot of ways. Right now I have 186 Plugins installed, and I never had any problems. Just install ENBoost, keep your Installation away from your C:/ Drive, and you shouldn't expect many problems.
