Account standing
Is there a way to check if my steam account is in good standing in the app?

Nope the App doesn't provide these features because they are not implemented by Valve themselves.
They are some kind of a mod created by the community on this website https://steamdb.info/calculator/

You can simply paste your Steam URL or at least you ID and then it will collect all the hidden date not provided by Steam itself (e.g Account Value, Ban Standings and so on).

Edit
The example for your account can be found via this link https://steamdb.info/calculator/76561198199837075/?cc=us

Infos of your account are...
  • You account was created 2 years ago
  • Value of $50 out of sales ($9 during sales)
  • Average Price of your games $16,66
  • You own 4 paid games
  • All of your ban states are in good standing

and a few more infos

Ok so, Is that normal that I can subscribe to any workshop item/mod even if I don't have the specific game?

Yes becasue the workshop items themselves are totally independent from the game due to the fact that they are community created and not powered by the developers of the game.
Even if the workshop item doesn't contain anything related to the game it was possible to upload it as an addon to this game, Thats how a lot of people used the workshop to smuggle their hacks and cheats to a competitive match on prepared machines.

Back to your question there is a simple answer to that:
You can subscribe a YouTube-channel without even watching a single video ;)

What a great answer! Now I understand it even better!
So If have the game, and I subscribe to a mod/item it will work with no problem?
Is it really so easy to install mods on steam??

Mods can be subscribed everytime no matter if you own the game or not
If you want to actually download the mods, you will need to own the game because during the dowload process Steam checks the workshop for you subscribtions and if they are related to your currently downloading game in the most cases
In some cases Mods are downloaded right after launching the game for example on Source games this is the case so in both cases you will need to own the game to download it
