Small microphone on my screen
When ever i play a steam game there are two symbol one of a microphone and something else in the lower right corner how the hell do you get rid of them. One thing about steam i dont like they just put stuff on your screen without asking then you have to figure out how to get rid of it. the right way to do it is say new feature and tell you how to activate give you a choice if you want the change or not.

That sounds familiar, it could be some other software like shadowplay. Try taking a screeenshot of it and link it here.

Again, take a screenshot.

Maybe you have enabled streaming and are streaming the game and your microphone to everyone? Hard to say with so little info but check your steam settings.

What method are you using? Tried the one in the link?

If you want help then you need to provide information and explain the problem and what happens.

The problem you have listed sounded like you are trying to access another external program such as "ShadowPlay". As "ShadowPlay" is a NVIDIA GeForce exclusive allowing NVIDIA graphics cards to be compatible with recording, this might be the issue as the microphone icon displays when it's in use (as described in your primary discussion message). As I am not fully aware from not seeing the issue on an image I can only suggest trying to click ALT + Z to bring up NVIDIA ShadowPlay overlay. When you are at this point, try to check if nothing is recording such as "Instant Replay" or the basic recording feature. NVIDIA ShadowPlay turns on automatically when detected games via Steam, Origin, or UPlay are found. If the microphone issue only shows during games then this should be the issue! For any other assistance feel free to reply to my comment and I'll try to contact you as soon as possible! :) ~ Squishy

If it is shadowplay then I'll show up in games outside of steam, sure it's not showing up in those games? What non-steam games have you tried?

But yes, it's most likely shadowplay.

When it shows up in non-game applications, you must've went on the overlay settings of ShadowPlay and in the "Privacy Control" tab and enabled desktop capture. This allows anything on your display to be streamed or recorded instead of the default setting of just the game. That is why on default ShadowPlay turns on when you turn on a NVIDIA GeForce detected games.
