Your screen or video card may be damaged or misconfigured.

Try fiddling with the buttons located somewhere around the edge of the screen, maybe the lower left corner.

Try restarting your computer.

Try re seating your video card.

I'm only guessing at the problem based on your discription - Users here will need more infomation to give better help.

For example:
Where exactly is the problem ?
Does the problem occur at specific times ?
Have you done any overclocking ?

Having seen the picture I agree with Silicon Vampire.

Internet browers are faily low demand on modern hardware so that may account for that being uneffected.

different programs may be using different software/hardware "paths" to display the same image and one may have issues developing...

any way to fix it without reseting the whole system?
Skeleton Mage May 20, 2017 @ 5:18pm
Try restarting your computer - not resetting your operating system. If its a minor software glitch that may fix it. Otherwise you may need to get it repaired.
A Regular Dwarf May 20, 2017 @ 5:19pm
its been doing that for a month so i don't think restarting it will help tbh..
Skeleton Mage May 20, 2017 @ 5:21pm
Time to get it repaired unless you know what you are doing and and can fix it yourself.
On the plus side it may be covered by warranty which could save you some money.

Nightenhelser tried it didn't help

Well if you are using a laptop then you will most likely have to take it in to be repaired, if its a desktop using a dedicated video card - not an onboard chip - then try swapping in a compatable card to see if the problem persists.

A quick ebay serch shows cards that should be suitable for testing for $20 or under if you dont have one sapre or one you can borrow for somewhere.

iam using chrome most of the time... but because of the glitch iam using edge..

Odd that microsoft's brower works but chrome does not...

To rule out a video card hardware fault try the following:

1) turn off your computer - also called shutting down.
2) open the computers case up - may be some screws that need to be removed.
3) unplug & remove your video card - power cables, remove screw then pull out carefully.
4) Plug your screen into the onboard video - many budget motherboards have something.
5) turn your computer back on - push the power button as normal.

Windows should reconise the onboard chip and automaticly install usable drivers for it (linux / mac may do so as well - no experence with those operating systems)

6) do something that normaly causes the color problem

If the problem disappears then it is your video card.
If the problem persists then its not your video card.

To restore your computer hardware back to how it was:

1) turn off your computer - also called shutting down.
2) Put your video cad back into the slot and plug in power cables carefully.
3) Plug your screen into the video card.
4) turn your computer back on - push the power button as normal.
5) If eveything is working screw the case back together.

there isn't an onboard vidoe card, and i have a gtx 1080ti, also same images appear normal if downloaded from chrome and the images most of the time appear normal but when zoomed in they start to discolour. the most afffected are sites and steam. Also the images discolour when they fully load, like if they're blurry the image appears normal colours.
