Cant Pay with PayPal amymore - external window broken
Hello everyone,

i have a new MacBook pro with the newest OS installed.

Until now i could buy games on steam using PayPal with no problems.

But now when i click to pay on PayPal the window that opens to the external PayPal site is smaller than i think it was a few weeks/months ago and i cannot enter my PayPal credentials.
I can see where to put the email adress and where to put the password, but i
see no cursor and cant type anything. Besides, the window does not disply eveything correctly.

So the window is basically broken. Is this a known bug they are currently working on or
do i have some strange bug only on my macbook?

Cheers

Mike

Hello, just to say I have the same problem with a 2013 MacBook Air and 10.12.4 OS version. I really hope Steam is working on this problem as I believe they are currently losing money with us!

Same issue. Late-2012 Macbook Pro latest MacOS build. Reinstalled steam and same issue.

A work around is to use the steam store in your browser.

Same problem happens with other payment services. It seems like a problem with webfonts and/or Steam applying custom styling on top of the payment provider's webpage (background of the site was black when it shouldn't).

I am now experiencing this problem for the first time. I don't know why.

WOW! What a long still outstanding deal-breaker bug, this does not say much for the developers maintaining the Mac Steam app. Steam's built-in browser appears to be not compatible with that required for contemporary Paypal.

Same problem as with others above, also on a Mac (mid-2015 iMac in my case).

Solution/workaround to use until they (eventually?) fix it:

- get to the point where the Paypal window pops up.
- highlight the URL on the window's panel and copy to clipboard (⌘C)
- Paste the URL into the address bar (⌘P) of your browser
- sign into Paypal and do the usual payment thing. the token in the URL
contains the necessary magic to complete the transaction
- with Chrome at least you are asked to load the Steam app instead of
web page. Choose this.

You should find that your payment will have been done at this point and you will be looking at the "thank you" page.

My window pops up cut-off on the side of my screen, and it won't let me drag it over. It does, however, let me resize it. Then I found that when I attempted to click on the url to copy it, it actually hit the submit button, which, by default, selects the field and tells me that I have to enter a valid e-mail. so then I can type in my e-mail and hit enter. Process repeats for password.

This is insanity, and I don't understand why they can't fix a paypal window. Re-code it to open in my web browser- I honestly don't care, so long as it works.

Yup, me too. This is pants, can't buy anything through the app.

This just happened to me, you can still right click on the url on the broken window and select copy URL then complete in another browser window. Its complete ♥♥♥♥♥ though

This bug is still there in 2022.

I just had to go though the web version to do a paypal payment.
