Steam Icon on task bar always green or yellow. How to fix?
What do I mean by "green or yellow" - I mean the way it appears if it's showing me that I've downloaded something or in the process of downloading something. It's currently green. ( http://i.imgur.com/SBAekYv.png ). Edit: got it to turn yellow by downloading the latest thing in the queue. The download queue is empty and it's back to this all the time. I'm pretty sure the cause is something in my SteamApps folder because I reinstalled Windows recently, but copied the SteamApps folder to save re-downloading all my games. Still have the problem after the reinstall (complete reinstall of Windows 7).

It's not a huge issue, but it makes it difficult to see when people have messaged me. Any thoughts on how to put it back to normal?

did you go through each game in your list and hit play. when i redid windows and and kept my steam folder in another drive it will go into downloading when you hit play-- search out the files- then verify they are all correct. if you haven't done this for each of your games it could be the cause.

I'll try this. There are a lot, it will take a while!

443 games i would say so. I will not be online by the time you finish so hope it works. could be a game has an update but since it hasn't verified yet it showing as downloading with nothing in the list. i would focus on games like Dota 2 that seems to update around 3 times a day

LOL, I reinstalled windows and it's still not fixed.

I'm not going to re-download every Steam game I own, so I guess I'm stuck with this problem until I get a new computer.

Holy crap! It just got fixed!. The only game of mine that updated recently was Armello, and I KNOW that's had updates in the meantime. So I can only assume that someone at Valve fixed this bug. Thanks someone at Valve!

Can confirm, also having this happen to me.
It does seem to have something to do with pending game updates, though.
Refreshing them by resuming and promptly pausing them when they display 0 bytes/ 0 bytes seems to clear this up.

just gonna put this here : for me it was that one of the games in my "Hidden Games" had an update which somehow got paused and had me in this situation for 2 months
