What Games Would My PC Be Able To Push Out 144FPS?
Dunno if this is the right place to post this, but anyways.

Specs: Intel Core i7 950 3.07GHz, AMD R9 280x OC'd to 1050MHz, 12GB RAM.

I get around 45-60FPS on a CPU intensive game. (BeamNG.drive)

I don't care what genre, I'd just like to see how smooth 144FPS is.

Ahh thanks!

Definitely be looking forward to it.

I've never seen 144FPS in my life, I'm used to 60FPS daily, so it should be very noticeable.

Actually, I should list my games.

Yea you have quite a few titles from the 2010-14 era. They should be fine with 144Hz too provided that you lower the graphics quality enough.

Games like Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, Burnout Paradise etc?

I dont get what the problem is?

That CPU and GPU can run basically ANY game. Not always at 100+ FPS, but still.

The problem is, I want it to run at 144FPS.

For what? What monitor do you have?

You want performance, but you have specs that are many many years old....

I have 60HZ now, but I'm going to upgrade to a 144HZ monitor.

I have 60HZ now, but I'm going to upgrade to a 144HZ monitor.

Then upgrade; 144 FPS has nothing to do with it.
In the end you'll have better refresh, less tearing, less ghosting.... and be on a much better looking LED Display. Even if you still are running 60 FPS average, the improvements in such a display are still present.

If you plan to stick with AMD GPUs (pick a family and stick to it)
then look for a good monitor with IPS panel and AMD Free-Sync

Most old/retro games will run above 144fps easily on your PC. I'd recommend SW:KOTOR, Mass Effect Trilogy and Dragon Age Origins if you like RPG games with great story/chacter.
Might consider it, thanks!

That's pretty cool the overall visual performance would be better!

I'd still like to see 144FPS too, as I said, I've never seen it.

Is there any websites where I can watch 144FPS gameplay, as YouTube only supports 60FPS?

If the games are demanding; then I'd look at getting newer GPU; like AMD 580 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB or 1070

280X doesn't really cut it anymore.

I wouldn't really matter if YouTube could show you 144 FPS; you're current Monitor can't display it.

Look at these instead:

Even if you play a game that doesn't hit 144fps you should still see a smoother improvement due to the 144 hz. Lets say you can achieve 72fps constantly the screen will display edge frame twice, or even 36 fps being displayed 4x per hz/refresh it's the screen refresh speed that really does make it look and feel soooo much better.

Change you monitor to 60hz and move you cursor around the desktop then switch it to 144hz and do it again. You will notice a difference.

Obviously being able to achieve higher fps is preferred, especially in competitve games but you should still see a better experience @144hz

There's also the fact that as the screen refreshes faster if you can't achieve 144 fps it's isn't that bad as you are less likely to notice any screen tearing as it refreshes so fast. Although I'd aim for 72fps minimum in intensive games if you want to crank up settings.

Thanks for that information, really appreciate it!

Yeah, apparently I can change my current monitor to 66HZ, 6 more frames. Even then I could tell a slight difference!
