This item is not available in your country
What's with all these messages? Is there any reason for such racist and xenophobic behaviour?

Ask your government, it's their fault, no Steam's.

I hope you are just joking, I am citizen of European Union, not terrorist or something :)

I'm not joking. It is up to the government as to which games can be sold in/to their country. So where ever you are living now must have a government who have strict laws on video game classification.

Could you perhaps clarify what game and what region you are getting the error in.

That's kinda absurd, I've bought 200+ various games recently and I sudenly can't buy anymore? I was doing some research and it's actually the publisher companies blocking content for some regions (for unknown reasons). I don't think our government is involved in this at all :)

Well.. it's quite hard to figure out what games are hidden behind those "We are sorry" placeholders, but I know I can't buy Skyrim, SWTOR, RAGE etc..

EU isn't helpful as a 'region', what country are you residing in where you are having these issues.

Two of those titles are Bethesda ones. Bethesda has some weird deal with 1C who apparently don't want to sell these games in a lot of 'former Russian' states.

I'm from Slovakia, probably just another "dangerous unstable less-developed russian-like country" for US corporations.

It's really sad, that's why I'm trying to find out reason for this ridiculous xenophobia...

PS: In fact, I don't really care about those games anymore. They don't want my money? Ok, they won't get anything from me anymore.

1C Company is a Russian company. What's this about US corporations and ridiculous xenophobia?

Yeah 1C is a pretty awful company. If you research deep enough you can actually find that they are actually demanding region locking on the russian steamwork games in order to protect their retail distribution. Quite disgusting.

I was talking about Bethesda, Bioware, EA etc... I don't know if 1C is involved in this. But if it's true, it makes no sense at all. Whole world going crazy :)

Choosing not to sell directly in a market they're not necessarily knowledgeable about -- which would be one of the reasons why Bethesda would choose to utilise a third party to sell their games there -- doesn't mean they show disdain or distrust for the region.

I just checked to be sure, and I can confirm that skyrim is licensed to 1C for distribution in the CIS/RU regions..

1C is definitely invovled becuase they're the distributor for those games in that region. If it's not on Steam it's because 1C apparently doesn't want your money.

Thanks guys for solving this mystery, well at least for Skyrim. I still blame Steam as well for participating in this unfair business.

There is still more games banned for me, but I don't give a .... anymore. I will just keep buying something else... preferably DRM free versions from that other online distributor I can't talk about here :)
