Should I buy earforce x12?

Hi !

I am planning on buying the Creative Sound Blaster Recon 3d Sound Card[www.amazon.com] but I read some of the reviews that it needs some good headphones to really notice the difference, so I'm thinking of buying the earforce X12[www.amazon.com] on amazon, well it got some good reviews so I chose it. So is this a good choice for both the soundcard and the headphone?

If your motherboard is moderately up to date, then the sound quality difference will barely, if at all be noticable.

And generally, any headphone labeled "gaming headset" will only have the novelty of being ricer as crazy and maybe but not necessarily offer a decent microphone.

Turtle beach are known for their xbox headsets, but that only because of you not being able to plug in any microphone into it, the general build quality and actual audio reproduction is below average and completely horrible in comparison with the price.

Long story short, not only will the soundcard do any difference, but at that the headphones are really quite bad too. Get a nice pair of AKGs with a fancy amp instead, or just cheap out and get any vouched for model from senneheiser within your price range.
