Source 2 Engine.. Day of Defeat 3?

Hi, I would love any information about the whispers I've heard going around about the new source engine (Source 2). Now, every time I hear somthing about steam and the games that started it all I hear Half-Life and Counter-Strike above all else, but what about Day of Defeat?!

I have been dreaming of the day steam news pops up with an announcement for Day of Defeat: Source 2. DOD has some of the best community mapping, modding and servers I have ever played and I have played all the block-buster multi-player games. Unfortunately, I rarely hear anyone talking about dod. Lastly, if they do bring dod back I seriously hope they give us back the weapon options from teh first one. With the way games have expanded, Im sure they will give gamers what they want.

World War II games are pretty played out on the market right now. I'd be very surprised to see a new Day of Defeat anytime soon.

Although I very much agree with you that war games are played out (thank you very much Activision and EA for releasing a war game every 6 months) I think day of defeat would still be very successful due to all the people that still play it and makes maps, mods, etc. Though, not as successful as MW or BF.

Don't get me wrong I would love new DoD as I loved the previous one but DoD:source was weak in map department to original DoD and I don't see Valve making an effort to make better game. They just released CS:GO with a really small amount of maps and we have still to hear when or if the map workshop is coming.

Guess it would be cool, but Valve are quite busy at the mo, possibly making the next half-life, working on tf2, maybe more portal stuff... If it comes, your gunna have to wait a little :(
