Well done Valve!
There's customer satisfaction, and then there's religious devotion.
But to be fair, you can blame other publishers for charging non-Americans extra, not Valve. And seeing as I come from New Zealand, where they don't even have the decency to rip us off in our own currency, I think I know what I'm talking about.
It's funny, if EA provided service this poor with Origin, the Internet hive mind would be in full revolt.
This! Also...
You're welcome, Valve. For my money. Because, as with any vendor offering me 70% e-mails twelve times during December...you're here for money.
You're welcome, other suppliers of products who've had massive sales since Black Friday. December is the most profitable month for retailers. I'm glad I could contribute to all of your bank accounts!
(Really. This is so one sided. We do remember Valve is making cash during these sales based on somewhat of a Walmart model, right? Low margins on each game sold, but LOTS of games sold total. Solid pricing, as with many retailers in December, but this is a business. Not a charity organization.)
EDIT: Furthermore, the developers of BIT.Trip Fate...claimed to have made an equal amount of PROFIT at 90% off compared to the entirety of the profit they made since the game's release in JULY. This single 90% off sale doubled their total profit made on the game in the prior 5 month span. The sale made them lots of money. Thank you, you're welcome.
