*This is not intended as an insult toward the OP, or anybody else. I just don't intend to buy EA games ever again considering how progressively crap they get. q:
The only thing that make them survive is big release, but they surely can't ocompete with Steam.
Everything on steam is also a kind of "lock themselves". At the moment Origin is considered a bad thing, but in a year or so it could be the other way arround.
Imagine Steam sold to Goldman Sachs..
I would love to port my games from one platform to another.. but that will sadly never happen.
I heard someone saying the same thing about UPLAY, it turned completly differently.
I have a different opinion, they reales first 2 out of 3 parts for MassEffect, DeadSpace and Crysis. After someone plays first 2 parts there is a bigger chance to want 3rd and will be forced to buy it on origin... EA's dirty strategy...
Not a good strategy as they would sell way more on Steam than Origin.
Nobody is forced to buy it on Origin. You can buy it everywhere apart from Steam.
It's not really working, specially for the old titles.
It's more about the new titles that keep them alive.
But even with VALVe cut, i hardly think they will make less if they release them on Steam.
Besides, we've proven ourselves that at the end of the day, what we want is to play that game
