Moving games to another PC
So, I was wanting to check and see if there's a way to move a steam game from one computer to another. The issue being that I can't access the internet at home, so my little laptop is the only PC that allows me internet access, and only while in town.

However, my desktop at home is the only one with the power to run any of my Steam games. So I wanted to know if I could download the steam game on my laptop, and then transfer it to my desktop at home somehow, and if so, if someone could explain how to do it.

You can simply copy the files over from one PC to another.

However, your PC will need to connect to the internet at least once before any of the games will be playable (so you can put Steam in Offline Mode).

Steam is already in offline mode Desktop-side. My biggest issue is that when I've tried before, the games haven't shown up or have wanted to install or something when I tried to play them.

Even if you copy the files over to the new PC, you will need to launch it once to verify that all the files are there and if not, Steam will attempt to download them. You will most likely need the internet for that too.

But basically find the game under C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common folder and copy it to the Common folder on the new PC.

You MUST have an Internet connection to install and update the games. Required.

Yes, you can copy the files over but hey will be useless until you have an Internet connection to the computer you wish to play on. Once everything is Installed, updated and set up properly while online, you can switch to offline mode.

Delete everthing found in the C:\Program Files\Steam except for steamapps and steam.exe and transfer that to the other PC via Portable HDD or whatever you want to use. I used that when I changed HDD and CPU. Works perfectly.

Not deleting the 'userdata' folder is advisable. Some games store their savegames there. (Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy, for example, if i remember correctly)
