Why don't people like/buy Max Payne 3?
Correct me if I am wrong, but as I discovered Max Payne 3 had terrible sale stats (they are selling more GTA4 than Max Payne 3 nowdays, but the prices are not so different), and I don't undersatand why. In my oppinion it is a fantastic game...

35GB download size + Rockstar Social Club account + GameShield IronWrap + Install Limits = Insta-Buy!!
I am also wondering why no one wants to buy this awesome game. :P

I think there is no Install limits on steam. Or yes?

Install limit comes with GameShield IronWrap

It was a departure from the first two games. MP3 isn't a bad game...just different. Sorta like New Coke. (look it up, youngins. lol)

I liked the new Coke. You can still order it directly from Coke themselves, certainly better than the American version of Coca-Cola Classic (it's not the same as the original, it was changed to using high fructose corn syrup instead of cane sugar and just tastes wrong. Thankfully, most countries outside of the US still use cane sugar.)

No debate about cane sugar. When I'm in Europe, I drink Coke by the gallon. Fanta too. The warehouse stores in the U.S. sell cane sugar Coke and Pepsi every few months or so.

MP3 is New Coke. Some people like MP3. Nothing at all wrong with that. It's just different from MP and MP2.

For those in the U.S., you can find "MexiCoke"[en.wikipedia.org] and Fanta in the Hispanic food section of stores like Wal-Mart. In my experience (in the Midwest), they carry it year-round. It's good stuff indeed- I'll treat myself to it every once in a while, and it's the only soda/pop I drink.

Back on topic, MP3 would probably have sold much better if they cut down on the DRM & cutscenes, which also would have had the effect of cutting down on the very large download size. Given that it plays as a movie and the MP is unfortunately rather dead, I'll wait until I can pick it up for the cost of a movie rental (~$5).

You make a great point about the cutscenes. They were over-the-top.

i dont know if Social Club is needed to play, but if yes its another negative point.
Social Club is needed, but why is it matter? If you played GTA IV you have a Social Club account. Or if you want to play with GTAV you have to make a social club account (and anyway, it is less than 5 minutes).
But I didn't heard about the Install limits...Do you know how many is the Install limit? Or what happens if I use all of my Installs? I have to buy the game again to play? o.O

You need Rockstar SC for single player? I know it's part of LA Noire, for example, but it's optional for that game which is why I went ahead and bought it, but I'll have to think again about buying MP3 if it's required for single player (I don't expect there'd be anyone left on the multiplayer when I get around to buying it).

I've never bought the GTA games, particularly not GTA IV because that has several layers of DRM caked on to it. If GTA V ends up being as good as many expect I'll probably buy it but then install a drm-free/no-cd version instead, but of course I'd rather not go through the trouble of doing that.

Rockstar for whatever reason keeps the installation limit of the version of GameShield IronWrap they use officially a secret. But perhaps someone has discovered it by now?

The truth is that Max Payne 1 and 2 weren't that good. I believe they are looked back on as classic, mainly for their introduction to the use of bullet time as a game play feature. Back then the slow-mo dive / bullet ballet was new and exciting. The rest of it was just "meh" I bought MP3 when it went on super sale but haven't played it yet. I only bought it out of a sense of obligation after having played the first two.

I'll give it a try at some point but really it's a game that is limping along after its shelf life has long expired. I was a little shocked when I learned they were bringing him back.

It is said to be 5 machine install limits. If you use up all 5 limits, you cannot simply activate this game any more which means you can no longer play it with your current steam account. Also that you cannot buy the game again with the same steam account means you are basically saying Bye-Bye to Max Payne 3 when you finish up 5 limits

You can say that now. Back then, when MP1 and MP2 hit the street, they were AMAZING.

If anything, I blame that awful movie for killing the franchise. LOL

I just really disliked the large download. Waiting for it to reach 15-20 dollars.
