What categories do you use to organize your steam games?
I'm looking for a way to organize my steam games. I thought I found a way I liked them but I've changed my mind. Here's the categories I use, what's yours?
Favorites
01 Newer Hits
03 Need To Play
05 Should Play
07 Laptop Games
Addons
Backlog
Extras
No Interest
X Old
XX Completed
XXX Trash
Z Mac

- Favorites is always on top automatically.
- I use the numbers to put them in the exact order I want using only odd at the moment in case I want to add something in between.
- Newer Hits are games like Hitman Absolution, Borderlands 2, Sleeping Dogs.
- Need to play are games that I haven't tried yet.
- Should play are games that i've played either on pc or 360 but I enjoyed and should play at some point.
- Laptop games are games that will actually work on my crappy laptop. I only play these games on my laptop because I can't play many on it anyways so I save these to play on it.
- Addons are DLC that isn't connected to the game or expansion packs like Warhammer expansions or Arma 2: OA.
- Backlog are game sequels that I need to still play the first game of like Mass effect 2, Half-Life episode 2.
- Extras I currently have setup for Hitman Sniper challenge (The little extra mission that you get for purchasing the game), and half life 2 lost coast which I got for free I think it's just a single mission.
- No Interest are games I will probably never play like half life 2 death match and half llife death match source.
- Old are old games like GTA 3 and Thief that I have no interest in playing on my laptop.
- Completed are games I've finished on pc I don't include games i've finished on 360 and also own on pc. I had to have finished it on pc for it to be here.
- Trash is FTP games that I can't delete like Champion's online, MMO's that I no longer play, The original GTA and GTA 2 that I got for free in a bundle and don't work on my pc.
- Zmac are mac versions of games that I got in bundles like GTA 3. I don't own a mac so I could put these in trash but meh.
I use the X, XX, XXX, and Z in the last 4 categories to make sure they are on the bottom in the order that I prefer.

So how is your setup? What do you think of the way I set it up should I change it?

04 Hmmm........games i can't make my mind up about, may get sent to 02 or 05

05 Regrets.......games i just don't like, i dont play just for the sake of playing or to finish

I list them by their genre, still waiting on those sub categories to make it worthwhile...

FPS
FPS Multiplayer
RPG
Puzzle/Simulations
Action
Adventure

etc.

Then just mark the ones I'm currently playing to favorites to keep them up top and when finished unfavorite them. It works but still messy without being able to add sub categories.

Currently Being Played - (whatever I'm playing at the time)
To Play - (Stuff I have to play)
Indie - (Anything that can be an indie title, being played or still yet to play)
Multiplayer/Online - (Anything with a major online/multiplayer part, played or yet to play)
Played - (Stuff that has been played, generally single run through or stuff I'm not interested in)
Replayable - (Stuff that can be replayed over and over again, for example, Torchlight and Shogun 2 is in this grouping )
Crap - (Crap I bought that really never should have been bought or played, may have come in a bundle)
Uneeded - (Beta stuff, or mac install stuff)

FAVOURITES
ALT+CTRL+DEL
BORING
DRM/DLC - NAUGHTY CORNER
GAMES
USED TO WORK BUT UPDATE

I don't have many games on Steam, but a good many of the ones I do have I really like, and those are the ones I just tag favs n go from there.

Usually, I check out or know a game before purchase, like Space Engineers, but impulse buys, eh it happens, hence the negative category names, (so I don't forget ^ - yes, I have reinstalled games and sighed a long ooooh thaaaat's riiiight - this game/series is @#%^ now xD).

Some series have annoyed me so much I put all their games by retrospective conviction into the naughty corner, and not one has come out since. Maybe there's hope yet.

I hope you've enjoyed the tour. :)

Mainly by genre. Any other type of organization is incredibly inefficient and only ends of being four or five huge piles of games.

I also throw some extra types in like 'horror' which is a theme of game rather than a genre. 'Open world' is another one. First or third person adventure or horror. Stuff like that.

So basically, standard genres and some sub genres.
