Of course everyone has a different price. Steam has just taught me to be patient and i'll get the same games I want to play for much cheaper and I just have to wait a few months. :)
What I find really fascinating out of all of this is that FarCry 3 even though it's still full price is still making its way on the top 20 list and even taking over most sale prices, that tells you something. It has been doing this well for 3 or more days now, it's really interesting even though all these cheapskates are pissing and moaning that stuff isn't cheaper here with have a $50 title kicking a** still.
Anyway, 2 x 60 = 12 x 10, isn’t it? So, if you think that somehow deeper discounts on some games at some competitors will undermine Valve/Steam...
There is no doubt that if game is sold for the less price than agreed means seller has to cover difference. Why is GamersGate issuing refunds? Because they are in deep red, that’s why. Amazon is racking losses on those crazy deals, but they cover it from their other sales, isn’t that easy to grasp. Typical loss leader.
This is your and others baseless statement. Do you have proof? No, you don’t. I already wrote many times - Valve and their parter publishers are running THIRD TIME this year same sale. According to people in Steam powered forums in summer, it was fail when it was happening. The same story was in autumn sale. You were all proven wrong. And now the same story. If Valve do that in spring sale, I’ll dig up every thread here in which you and similar said it was fail.
All what I see in various forums is that only pissed people are traders and hoarders.
Very true
All the sales seem to be repeats, indie titles found elsewhere in bundles cheaper and 25% off titles I don't want. At least they've got the indie titles for $5 though. Don't think Dead Pixel will be in a bundle soon!
Tomorrow is Spec Ops for 75% off
Sunday is Civ 5 inc. expansion for 85% off

Reading comprehension. Work on it.
I don't know if any of you have ever had to deal with poverty, homelessness, or starvation, but by the way most people are acting, I'm guessing not.
How about being thankful for all of the things that you do have, all of the good fortunes that you do have, all of the luxuries and comforts that you do have, rather than constantly complaining over something as minor as a Holiday Sale discount? If you're really wanting a further discount, go elsewhere or wait. But, no, let's throw a hissy fit and have a tantrum in the middle of the store.
Yes, I know that some people are merely disappointed about the sale and not irately angry. But. if you look at the vast majority of the posts, it's filled with whining about how they didn't get a super, uber discount for their favorite toy. If you have a problem, then it can be dealt with reasonably. Throwing around about how Valve ruined Christmas, etc. is stupid and obnoxious. It's also very myopic and selfish. Steam is a worldwide thing. Not everyone's Christian. For most of the world, New Years is a much bigger thing than Christmas, and the sale goes until Jan 4th. There's still time for some big sales, and even if they don't materialize, so what?
In short, if this is in any way devastating or upsetting for you, you have some really screwed up priorities and a skewed sense of entitlement.
But, hey, that's just, like, you know, my opinion, man.
Look, I don't know ANY country in the world that has a tradition of people pigging out on presents for themselfs on new years day. That is EXACTLY what we invented christmas for!
You seem to misunderstand. The people that are complaining here are the ones that actually care about Steam. They are the ones that refuse to buy non-Steam games, and are appalled by having to go to Amazon and other places in order to buy Steam games.
Just because you, quite obviously, don't share this same level of affection doesn't make anyone else here stupid.
And coming back to my original answer - my guess is that Valve would prefer one of these "stupid" complaining users to a "reasonable" one like you that suggests buying stuff elsewhere any time of the day.
But so much for reading comprehension I guess..
Uhhh.. good one, hah.
You shouldn't hold loyalty to the Steam Store. Competition in the market is good for the consumer, and you should take every oppertunity to do what is good for you and your wallet when it comes to buying things.
If you want steam tied games and can buy steam tied games elsewhere, cheaper- there's no reason not to. It's not like Steam is coming to your holiday parties or anything.
