Help finding a good racing game

I have been looking for a racing game that is Forza 2 & 3 for the pc (i.e. Car Parts, Painting, Decals, and Tuning). What is the closest that I can come to this, preferably on Steam or GOG, but if I have to I will buy a hard copy.

take a look at Shift 2 its similare to forza ina few ways but has less cars and if you want somthing more open world test drive unlimited 2 is pretty decent i playd these on xbox though and cant vouch how well done the PC versions are

Well.. You can try out Race 07 & its DLC, It doesnt have car parts, painting, or decals, but you can modify the car textures and racing team names and driver names to make the game feel custom. Has alot of user made content for cars, teams, and car textures, and maps

Open world would be nice but not required, I loved Midnight club 3 Dub Edition on the Original Xbox, so open world could be good. I tried the MC2 Demo, but according to people, there is 0 customization besides 3 colors to chose from for each vehicle, I wanted to like it.

You may like NFS: Most Wanted or NFS: Undercover

There isn't much racing games on PC with those features you want.

SHIFT 2 I would say would come the closest, don't bother with the newer NFS games....They are absolute rubish if you wanted a customisation/tuning racing game.

As stated above, TDU2 for open world cruising - lacks customisations but still a good game to play now and again.
Race series is good if you're more into racing sims than arcady ones.

I would say stick to forza if you have an xbox, if not SHIFT2 is the one to go with in my opinion.

Maybe try a good sim like i Racing or Race series (07 and RaceRoom), arcade style race games i like are Dirt series, F1 series, GRID (no. 2 out soon), Blur, Burnout and TDU2, i dont like the Need for Speed series though they just play crap i think.

I'm getting a Logitech g27 wheel for christmas, any1 knows which good racing games that works best with it?

The G27 will practically work on any racing games (except xbox 360)

The games I love using my G25 are SHIFT 2, GRID, DiRT 3, Race 07, F1 2012. - those are on PC

and on PS3 mainly just GT5 and Initial D

All of those games ^ work perfectly fine on my G25 so it should be no different to the G27

It was ok, but to arcadish for me. Albeit I did love the customizing and car painting and decals, but.. the community for it is dead (no one online) and it uses GFWL which is horrible.

The first 3 DiRT games or not arcade games but simulator games with some arcade physics. Try DiRT 3 man its an awesome game.

i agree the 3 DiRT games are good but get DiRT 1 first i thought it was better then 2 and 3 and GRID is a more street/circut racing game which i liked more then DiRT ill never forget my dissapointment with the 24 hours (minuites) at LeMans race >_>
only downer is that both games dont have car customazation really you can change your car skin but thats really it

and off topic i absolutely loved midnight club 3 i wish rockstar would make another midnight club game better the MCLA that one dissapointed me

GRID and Shift2 are your best bet, this is coming from somone who also loved and played the forza series. Forza Horizon pushed it in the wrong direction, like the open world but not the stupid a** mainstream story mode to it, hopefully they come back to the roots and what made the series great.

Or at least made an "HD Port", there is a huge MC3 fanbase and I could see an oppertunity for profit. MC3 is the only reason I kept my original Xbox 3 years after the 360 came out, but the old thing died, so no more MC3 for me. :,(
