Looking for free offline games
I only have 8gigs of internet useage a month, I can't buy anything online so are any decent OFFline single player free games on steam? I have terraria but I do want a few rpgs and i don't want to bug any of my friends to gift me any of the games on my wishlist....especially with christmas just round the corner and all (even though torchlight 2 and divinity 2 would be awesome I guess I can keep dreaming).

so any ideas? I like fantasy style rpgs, adventure games and casual games, besides not like I'm going to get anything new any time soon.

Considering developers generally want to get paid for their tedious and hard work, you'll be hard pushed to find free games on Steam.

The top of this list has 10 or so Free games available for download on Steam: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851573

For the "offline" request, though, near every Single player game would work in Offline mode. The ones that wouldn't have third party DRM.

most of those games usually tack on the single player tag as they are intended to be played with multiple players and most decent single player games require payment..so yeah I'm pretty much screwed unless I go for the bakugan meets pokemon fantasy games like poxnora or somethng.

So what are you looking for exactly? A free non-MMO?

For single play Id recommend Dwarfs http://store.steampowered.com/app/213650/

dwarfs isn't really my kind of game and yeah I am pretty much looking for a decent rpg or adventure game that is not an mmo..most of the good games either cost money or are mmo's

Well, Frontline: Tactics has character leveling, but it may not be the type of game you're looking for.

if its a shooter then no....

It's a turn-based tactics/strategy game.

No, it's not a shooter. It's a turn-based strategy/RPG.
Look it up, it's hard to explain.

Please look at my link again...?

The top of it has every free game available on Steam. Note how there aren't many because developers want to be paid for their work.

You're looking for a "decent RPG or Adventure game" that is free... Well, you'll be hard-pushed to find that because these things take a lot of time and - most often - a lot of money to make.

yeah I'll think I might just ask one of my friends for at least one of the games on my wishlist and hope for the best, thanks everyone.

For someone wanting things for free, that is pretty picky...

You are aware that the Christmas Sales will, most likely, start in a few weeks? Many games will be 50% off or more then...

I'm going to assume you live with your parents or guardian(s)? Why not save up pocket-money/allowance and get a game or two during the sales?
