Steam is bloaty trashware
Steam sux. I don't mean oh Steam made a decision or priced something that I didn't like.

I mean the application and its functionality genuinely f******g sucks.

For example, whereas formatting buttons is now the norm on everything from Discord to Twitter, Steam can't seem to make the same functionality inside their own bespoke application.

Image embedding in forums? Nope. Spamming gifs unrelated to games on the community hub to farm points - totally fine.

The app basically belongs in 2007 and as much as I enjoyed having sex with Gabe's m0m that year, it's time to let go of the past.

I've read the blogs about Steam coders and Valve's payrates - it can be done, it has simply been chosen not to be done.

Also Steam moderators are responsible for the #PumaCaust, get over it.

The way this was written as well as the name and avatar of the account... All this point to award farming for me. So no, you're not going to have a serious answer from me. Please go away OP.
Then don't use it lol

Your big complaint about Steam is that people can't embed porn in forum threads?

I blame the switch to Chromium.
Please leave Steam. Thank you
Steam is ancient, bloated and janky software but you’ll never convince its fanboys of that while the client keeps disconnecting, crashing, and hogging resources.

What’s funny is that Steam fanboys’ reaction to third-party launchers is exactly how gamers reacted to Steam when Valve forced it on them to play Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2 way back when. But gamers have the memory of a goldfish and somehow Steam is “better” when in reality it was just the first launcher.

If you hate it that much just leave? You aren't forced to use it

Eeeh no. Steam is pretty much the best one out there.

Formatting buttons?
You talking about the forums? Well the forum runs by itself and isn't connected with the Steam client. Steam forums decides to keep it simple.

You can post images if they are in your screenshot or artwork section. Also this has nothing to do with the Steam App. Forums are separated from the clients.

Bloated? It's pretty lightweight for what it does. Every feature is working as well.
Disconnect? The odd friend system going down for a moment? Like maybe once a month? Not much of an issue.

Crashing? No, just no. Steam hasn't crashed for me in bloody forever. Hell I don't remember if it has crashed at all for me. You know for 15+ years straight.
It is by far the most stable program I have used.

Steam improved over the years. To the point where quite literally the vast majority have no issues with it. You only have a couple of people coming here claiming it's the worst thing ever. If it was the worst thing ever a lot of more people would have made topics about it.

But nope you just have a couple of users. Which pretty much proves how good of a program it is.
