Steam Big Picture audio delay using DP-to-HDMI from PC to TV
I recently got a decent PC setup where I'm wanting to use Steam Big Picture on my TV but I'm dealing with like, half-a-second audio delays when pressing anything. This applies to a bunch of games and emulators too. I've tinkered with all the TV settings I couid from enabling game/PC mode to disabling some settings and I've had no luck.

I'm almost ready to chock it up to the cable I'm using which is why I ordered a different DP-to-HDMI cable. The one I currently use says it supports HDMI 2.0. The new one incoming doesn't say, but it said it transfers more gigabits per second? The one I use now does 1 gigabit per second while the one I'm waiting for does 30. I dunno if any of this makes a difference but I'm out of options if this doesn't work.

I have a Switch and a PS5 and the only thing here that does not have audio delay is the PS5.

Was having a similar issue on my LG C2 when I put my surround system in. Turned on PCM in the TV sound settings and the issue went away

Not sure if that's relevant to your issue but might be worth a look

You would think that would solve it for me but it's not only turned on for me by default, I can't even turn it off lol.

Question..... Why do you go the way from dp to hdmi, instead of using the hdmi output on your GPU?

Because one of my monitors is already using the HDMI outlet on my GPU.

Actually it just occurred to me that monitor could be plugged into the motherboard and the TV can be plugged into the GPU but I won't know what to do if that doesn't work.

k the fix was to use a DP-to-HDMI cable that doesn't suck.
Which brand and model# was bad? For future reference.

:nkCool:

They're both generic Chinese brands you'd find on Amazon. One is good the other is bad.

Good[www.amazon.com] (the one I have that works)

Bad[www.amazon.com] (the one I'm throwing away)
