Why is the thumb in front of "review" still a "thumb up" despite the review is thumbs down?

I realized that the thumb is still showing a positive "thumbs up" in the game showcase on "recent activities" on profiles despite the review being a "not recommended".
I wonder why the thumbs are not showing the review's actual "state".

I didn't really pay attention to it yet, but now it makes me wonder why.

The person that make the review can either click box for thumb up, or down that all there is to it.

The text box for explaining further detail for decision, either being simple, or in-depth.

I know all this.... I wrote many reviews already. 🙂

What I mean is that the grey thumb icon next to the "review 1" below the game showcased in the recent activities on ones profile is always a "thumbs up" and is not impacted by the review being a "thumbs down" by itself.
I was not talking about how the reviews work or the "thumbs up/down" in relation to the review, but that a "thumbs down" is showcases like a "thumbs up" on the profile (not the review page, but where the games are listed on "latest activities"

(sorry if this is a mess to understand. It's hard to explain without pictures)

Ah hmm not sure I have to try this out later see what could be happening.

You can always use Imgur, or upload it as artwork on Steam making it public so others can see whenever want to show something by screenshot. Just make sure not include any personal information, and edit screenshot want things to be clear to others it what I do often.

In a showcase like Favorite Game, if a review is written, it is denoted at the bottom of the showcase.

It's just the icon for "review". It's not meant to represent the chosen opinion but just that one was made. It's probably why it's grey as opposed to red or green.

It's just the icon for "review". It's not meant to represent the chosen opinion but just that one was made. It's probably why it's grey as opposed to red or green.

Now I feel silly, yeah I see what you mean.

Yeah icons there for show to help identify sections like screenshot with camera icon. Now they could've just used a comment icon, or something else instead of thumb up icon for review #.

That explains it, yeah.

I thought it was indicating how the individual rated a game - like a bonus indication, which wouldn't be silly either despite not necessary (because you can usually see reviews in the reviews category). As I wrote: I didn't really notice until now and was confused why the thumb was still up. 😆

The icon is quite misleading, but thanks for making me understand that it is "just" an icon to point out the existence of a review.
