Yeah 7800X3d was more expensive than the 9950X a couple of weeks ago, I don't even know if they still manufacture it. I doubt they will be making more 5800X3d's but who knows. I'm suprised they let their flagship 9950X go out of stock after less than 2 months of it being released.
It is also 600 bucks at least if you can find it. 9800X3D might be out at the start of next month so I might check that out.
On AM5, The 7800X3D is likely to be "replaced" soon by the 9800X3D as well, although I expect that to have an MSRP of around $450, or at least high enough that the price reduced 7800X3D would have threatened it, so it's likely AMD limited supply of the 7800X3D so it doesn't stay as cheap as it was and make their new launch less relevant. Or, demand for the 7800X3D has just been higher than supply lately with the recent drama on Intel's side with the Raptor Lake issues. Who knows. Either way, supply is definitely not matching demand so up went the price.
The 9800X3D may then possibly go down in price 6 to 12+ months after it launches, like the 5800X3D and 7800X3D did. But that depends on the market. With LGA 1851 possibly being a single generation (like Haswell was, since Meteor Lake was cancelled on the desktop already and was mobile only), and since its performance is speculated as being underwhelming for gaming like Zen 5 was at first, it's possible the price doesn't move on the 9800X3D as much.
That's just a guess as to what I'm expecting though.
